Practical Nursing (RPN) Programs. One of the ways the College of Nurses of Ontario protects the public is by making sure practical nursing programs in Ontario prepare graduates with the entry- to- practice competencies required to practise as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). We do this by reviewing and approving all Ontario practical nursing programs.
The approval process includes a review of the program. We review this every five years. We also do an annual review of the program. These include: students. Contact the institutions directly to learn about the program's admission requirements. Existing students who successfully complete all program requirements will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.
